The CrossFit Games is broken up into three stages. The first step is The Open, a worldwide online competition that kicks off in February. All CrossFitters at every level are encouraged to compete. It’s basically our annually test see how much we’ve improved. Most of us don’t worry too much about where we actually end up ranking but more about improving our ranking from previous years.

Can You Do It?

Our focus is on FUN. We want participation because it will make you fitter, and it will get you high-fives and you’ll be happy and love life more and glow and stuff.

The entire point of the Open is to put your best effort in and see where you end up, then try to improve the following year. There will be events and movements that you struggle with and some that you excel at. Even if you don’t Rx every CrossFit Allen workout, you can compete in the Open. There is even scaled options for each workout!

Friday Night Lights

Week 1 – Friday, Feb 22nd
Week 2 – Friday, March 2nd
Week 3 – Friday, March 9th
Week 4 – Friday, March 16th
Week 5 – Friday, March 23rd

Our goal at CrossFit Allen is to educate and inspire. Competition helps with the inspiration, the pressure to perform pushes you to train harder; the social boost of dozens of your best friends cheering for you will help you reach a higher plane. Heck, watching your teammates GO is inspiring.

CrossFit Allen’s WOD each Friday during the Open will be the weekly Open workout. Each week, we have Friday Night Lights for Open registered athletes. Everyone will do the workout in organized, judged heats, the atmosphere will be exciting, and the volume will be turned up!

If you cannot attend the Friday Night session, you simply have to complete the workout with a judge and coach present and submit your score by the deadline each week.


The Intramural Team Challenge

In 2018, you’ll still be entering your score to CrossFit as an individual, but through the Open, we’re going to have four intramural teams competing within the gym. And you’re going to be on one of them. The coaches and Captains will determine the teams in a random but even manner. Those that haven’t signed up once the teams are picked will be Undrafted Free Agents and the will be recruited by the teams!

How You Earn POINTS for Your Team

3 Points Each – Top 3 Overal Men & Women each week
2 Points Each – Top 3 Masters Men & Women, Top 3 Scaled Men & Women
1 Point Each – Every Athlete that enters their score on the CrossFit Games page
5 Points – Team that has the most athletes participating on Friday night
Must submit score on Games site to receive points. Cannot earn points in more than 1 division.
